CDX Invited to Give out Expertise and Professionalism at SECC’s Seminar

Swiftly rising to the top of the derivatives industry following its historical inception, Cambodian Derivatives Exchange Co., Ltd. (CDX) has been honorably invited to join and share its rich expertise and professional financial prowess in front of mass media at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia’s (SECC) educational seminar on “The Update of Derivatives Trading in Cambodia”, which was conducted on April 26, 2018 at SECC’s headquarter.

The seminar had the great pleasure of the presence of H.E. Mr. Sou Socheat, Director General of SECC, SECC’s high-ranking officials, derivatives market players both Central Counterparty and Derivative Brokerage companies, and heaps of journalists from various institutions, aiming at guiding the journalists and later the public as a whole to understand deeply about derivatives trading and derivatives markets which include its overview, regulatory management, investment risks and risk reduction strategies, and the differences between stock investment and derivatives investment to name a few.

This invitation came as a no stranger as CDX has been long well-known for its professionalism as well as its industry know-how and has actively contributed to the development of the financial sector in Cambodia, thus making itself remarkably get noticed by SECC. This participation has also kept an excellent record of CDX as the model Central Counterparty entity in jointly promoting the local and international derivatives markets, while showcasing its unwavering commitment towards SECC and in forming classy services and transparent trading practices in the country.

H.E. Mr. Sou Socheat opened his short but meaningful remarks greeting and saying thank you to all attendees before going on to raise key awareness and briefly share his financial knowledge to all participants. Also, he pointed out the importance of this seminar and SECC’s missions to take part in Cambodia’s upswing in economy. The seminar’s guest speakers then took turn to do their informative presentation, playing a vitally important role in ensuring that the journalists comprehend the intended messages.

Among those speakers, Mr. Lawrence Kook, Director of CDX, presented “Risk of Investing in Derivative Instruments and Risk Reduction Strategies” in an amazing manner and continuously interacted with the audience, imparting the needed knowledge to keep the investment safe and ready for proliferation. Mr. Lawrence also skillfully and professionally cleared the journalists’ doubts during the Q&A session, leaving everyone smiling and applauding for his tremendous competency. During that rewarding afternoon, he also promised that CDX would continue to be a role model and bring in more oversea investors, which not only serves economical purpose but also other purposes such as human resource, education, etc.

As the Derivatives Exchange in Cambodia, CDX has attracted attention of diversified investors and is the only local-based firm that predominately has both local and global derivatives brokers.
