Cambodian Derivatives Exchange Co., Ltd. (“CDX”) zealously celebrated on September 15, 2018 its 2nd year anniversary themed “Kingdom of the Great” at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, showcasing its marvelous journey over the years and gathering financial investors and professionals as well as celebrities from different countries around the globe. The spectacular event linked the mixed cultural decorations and performances together in such a beautiful way that has rarely happened in Cambodia.
Just walking one step to the event area, all honored guests already had the feeling of excitement and expected extra special things to come after catching the sight of intricately-built miniature landmarks of various nations, including Cambodia, China, Australia, France, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Japan, showing their outstanding beauty along with nice-looking models in a variety of national costumes under exquisite lighting effects. This welcoming atmosphere made different parts of the world look connected, reflecting greater international integration and cooperation, just like what CDX has been doing to have both professional local and overseas partners under its belt.
The “Kingdom of the Great” officially kicked-off with a Cambodian popular dance called “Coconut Shell Dance” to welcome and give all guests an entertainment spectacle, which was particularly new and unfamiliar to the eyes of the overseas guests. Then, Mr. Lawrence Kook, Director of CDX, was invited on stage to deliver his speech which covered a brief guest greeting expression, the introduction of Cambodia to the foreign guests, and the meaningful summary of the company’s efforts and achievements in the financial market especially derivatives market in the past year, overcoming challenges as well as leading the local market to a higher level. Mr. Lawrence also showed his sincere gratitude to the regulators, derivative brokers, business partners, and staff for great cooperation and contributions over the years, together forming as a catalyst for the derivatives market advancement. He expected that the derivatives sector in Cambodia would continue to blossom and would serve many fields including economy and education in years to come.
The night went even enjoyable when Cambodian superstar singer Ms. Aok Sokunkanha gave an anticipated cheerful performance followed by Chinese stars Ms. Eunice and Ms. Hana, grasping everyone’s attention. There was also a lively sand painting performance which demonstrated the strong cooperation between Cambodia and China as well as between Cambodia and many other countries.
To acknowledge the contributions of its outstanding staff, CDX also introduced award presentation categorized in various aspects, making the staff feel proud of their efforts and committed to delivering more to the company.
