Cambodian Derivatives Exchange (CDX) has fervently sponsored and supported the launching of the “Glossary of Relative Words in Modern Khmer Language”, a glossary considered crucial to the contemporary Khmer linguistics and so many sectors including economy, religion, culture, and, in particular, education. Attended by a swarm of students, professors, researchers, and distinguished guests, this launching was successfully held on July 10, 2018 at Pannasastra University of Cambodia.
This advocating and sponsoring came as CDX keeps up its mission to enrich the educational sector in Cambodia, promoting the awareness of the importance of education and providing educational resources at its best. CDX’s efforts and commitment in fostering the public education can be easily seen, for the Exchange has conducted numerous forums, seminars, workshops, and training courses, both locally and internationally.
Following the welcome remarks of Dr. Kol Pheng, Founder and Rector of Pannasastra University of Cambodia, as well as of venerable Nget Sopheap, President of Pannasastra Student Research Academy, Mr. Chhin Seyha, the author of the glossary, expressed his excitement at such achievement and believed it would serve the benefits of the whole nation. Mr. Seyha then thanked all participants and especially CDX and members of Pannasastra Student Research Academy for their strong support, which led to the existence of the glossary as well as the event. He also promised to carry on with his hard work and come up with other educational attainments in the future.
In the wake of this launching, CDX showed its appreciation of the emergence of the glossary and highlighted its deep understanding of the importance of education to the development of every sector including Cambodia’s economic growth as a whole. This is because education gives people knowledge, skills, and techniques as well as expands creativity and vision to see the world and to interpret things in life. Education also develops the capabilities to fight against poverty, injustice, and violence and turn the societies with opportunities, fairness, and transparency. As such, CDX has put lots of efforts into promoting access to education including human resources and needed study materials, which collectively builds knowledge societies.
All distinguished guests and participants held the “Glossary of Relative Words in Modern Khmer Language” and its launching ceremony in high regard, believing that it would act as a good catalyst for the development of education in Cambodia.
